Los Alamos County Little League Announces Opening Day Festivities
After two long years of not being able to celebrate the opening of the Baseball and Softball seasons, the Los Alamos County Little League (LACLL) is excited to announce its schedule for the 2022 Baseball and Softball Opening Day Celebration!
This year’s LACLL Opening Day Ceremonies will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday April 23, 2022, at Lou Caveglia Field on North Mesa in Los Alamos. Opening Day Ceremonies will include a recognition of all registered LACLL Baseball and Softball players, special opening day first pitch by LAHS Senior Baseball players, a T-Mobile Home Run Derby, and an opportunity to cheer on the LAHS Varsity Baseball Team in their District matchup with the Moriarty Fighting Pintos.

Opening Day Welcome
LACLL Opening Day Comments and Welcome by the LACLL Board
Presentation of Colors and National Anthem
Presentation of Colors will be provided by the Los Alamos Fire Department and the National Anthem will be performed.
LACLL Baseball and Softball Team Parade
LACLL Baseball and Softball Teams will be introduced by the LACLL Board and will run onto the field to be cheered on by family, friends, and community members.
Little League Pledge
Little League Sportsmanship Pledge will be led by LACLL Board Members and accompanied by all LACLL Players, Families, Friends, and Community Members.
2022 Little League Season First Pitch
LACLL will be honoring the Los Alamos High School Senior Baseball players by having them throw out the first pitches of the 2022 Los Alamos County Little League season.
LACLL Prizes and Giveaways
Los Alamos County Little League will provide an opportunity for registered LACLL baseball and softball players in attendance to win prizes and other giveaways. Giveaways will include baseball & softball equipment, gift cards and other prizes.
Coltin Hansel Memorial Little League Home Run Derby Sponsored by T-Mobile
Registered players from the Los Alamos County Little League will have the opportunity to take part in the local competition for the inaugural Coltin Hansel Memorial Little League Home Run Derby sponsored by T-Mobile. Local T-Mobile Little League Home Run Derby competitions will be held throughout the country this spring and summer. This year, Los Alamos County Little League players have the opportunity to participate in this exciting event and possibly move on to represent LACLL at state, regional and national T-Mobile Homerun Derby competitions. Los Alamos County Little League baseball and softball players ages 9-12 are eligible to participate.

Ballpark Food and Drinks at the LACLL Snack Bar
Food, Snacks and Drinks will be available at the LACLL Snack Bar. LACLL will be accepting PayPal for snack bar food and beverage purchases.
Support and Cheer on the LAHS Toppers Baseball Team
After the LACLL Opening Day Ceremonies, stick around to cheer on the LAHS Toppers Varsity Baseball Team as they take on the visiting Moriarty Fighting Pintos! Go Toppers!
The entire community is invited to come out to support the Los Alamos County Little League Players and the LAHS Toppers Baseball Team. Come celebrate the opening of the 2022 Baseball and Softball seasons with a day of food, fun, and baseball!
