Los Alamos Family Council CountUP! Week 20

LAFC NEWS RELEASE

In 1969, Los Alamos Family Council launched a team of Big Brothers of America. The program started with 20 “bigs” to help mentor boys aged eight to 17.

The Big Brothers program is just one of the many efforts Los Alamos Family Council used to help meet the needs of the Los Alamos Community over our last 60 years. LAFC no longer offers the Big Brothers program – that is now performed by Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region. You can read more about that program.

Today, Los Alamos Family Council offers two main programs: the Counseling Center and the Youth Activity Centers. Our Counseling Center provides mental and behavioral health support through individual, couples, and family therapy. Our Youth Activity Centers provide a free and safe after school and summer program for youth in grades 3rd through 8th who live, or attend school, in Los Alamos County.

Los Alamos Family Council also provides a weekly SMART Recovery meeting on Tuesdays at 5:30. These meetings are free thanks to funding from Los Alamos County.
