LAPD NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos Police Department conducted a DWI Roadblock Thursday evening as a part of ongoing efforts to combat impaired driving and help keep Los Alamos motorists and citizens safe. The event was funded from the New Mexico grant ODWI program.  LAPD officers checked to make sure drivers were not under the influence throughout St. Patrick’s Day evening on Diamond Drive.

“We are happy to report that there were no DWI arrests and we want to thank our citizens for being responsible drivers and partnering with us in our goal to reduce negative traffic incidents in 2022,” said Deputy Chief Oliver Morris

The Los Alamos Police Department will be conducting several more ODWI and LDWI roadblocks throughout the year in Los Alamos County. Many citizens thanked Los Alamos Police officers for conducting the check point as they passed through.  LAPD roadblocks are facilitated by the Department’s Drug Recognition Experts (DRE’s).  Chief Sgambellone wanted to thank the public, officers, and DRE’s Det. Jemuel Montoya and Cpl. Jaime Gonzales for conducting a safe roadblock.
