Carolyn was taken from us after a battle with cancer. Carolyn’s full life ended peacefully with her family by her side.

Carolyn’s family roots were in Harrison, Arkansas. At a young age Carolyn moved to Oxnard, California. She was a “pom-pom” girl in high school. Nicknamed “Red”, Carolyn was very active in school activities.

Carolyn and her future husband Ed were high school sweethearts.

Married after high school Carolyn and Ed moved to Las Cruces, Phoenix and then landed in Los Alamos in 1957. They were happily married for 59 years until Ed’s passing in 2013.

Carolyn’s life in Los Alamos was full with many friends of over 60 years. “The BlueBirds” were a close knit group of friends that have stayed together.

Carolyn volunteered at “Day Out” for seniors in Los Alamos for 10 years.

After  Ed’s retirement from Los Alamos National Laboratory Ed and Carolyn spent their time sailing in northern New Mexico and traveling the world on container ships, barges and exploration cruises. Her hobbies included quilting and stitching. Hobbies always took a second place to the love of her life Ed. She was known for her organization and kindness to others. She will be missed beyond what words can define.
