LOS ALAMOS STEAM LAB NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos STEAM Lab will be offering a weekly coding club at their new location in Central Park Square. The club will be appropriate for kids in grade first through eighth and at all levels of coding experience and interests. Possible activities include:
* Bitsbox cards – quick and shareable template based projects using a javascript derivative
* CMU Academy – fully featured curriculum using Python and a drawing library
* Scratch – online block based coding suitable for emerging readers
* Bring your own project – mentored support for planning and executing ideas: past projects include a chat bot, astronomy app, and platformer game
We also know that coding can be hard. For kiddos that may need to walk away for a few minutes during a tricky spot, we’ll have our Lego area open for a different creative outlet.
