4-H NEWS RELEASE

Kimberly Prada of White Rock has been selected as a State 4-H portfolio winner. To qualify for this 4-H opportunity, senior 4-H members submit a State 4-H Portfolio and compete with senior aged members ages 14-18 from around the state. These members are selected based on the quality of their portfolio, which is a compilation of their years of work in 4-H. This process looks at their years of involvement in events such as their leadership in county, state and national events; participation in competitions; participation and completion of 4-H projects; participation in county and state fairs and other events.

Kim will be traveling in November with other portfolio winners to the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia, which is the flagship event of the 4-H program. It provides youth a quality, educational and cross-cultural experience that exceeds what any state could provide independently, and is designed to address the needs and issues of youth while helping to develop capable, competent, and caring citizens.
