Registration for the Los Alamos County Little League (LACLL) upcoming season has opened and forms can be completed here: https://www.lalittleleague.org/Default.aspx?tabid=895681
LA County Little League offers divisions ranging from Tee Ball (Ages 4-7) all the way up to Senior Division (Ages 13-16).
“LACLL offers a tremendous opportunity to local youth to play baseball and softball without having to go to Albuquerque or Santa Fe to play,” said Coach Joe Martinez. “It is one of the longest running youth sports leagues in Los Alamos and it is one of the most affordable sports leagues for families in the area.”
Martinez said the program has a group of dedicated group of volunteers that have really worked to make a strong return after two years that were negatively impacted by COVID.
“They are striving to provide a safe outlet for youth baseball and softball players that may otherwise be stuck indoors due to various COVID restrictions,” Martinez said.
The 2022 season runs from March 1 to June 30. Each softball and baseball player will receive a uniform shirt and hat which is included in the registration fee of $100 per player. There is a $10 discount for siblings. Registration close at noon Mar. 10.
LACLL is accepting donations to support scholarships and additional equipment and would welcome donations from the community. Donations can be made through the above link.
Division placement is determined by a combination of variables including player league age, skill level, prior league experience, prior coach recommendation, Little League guidelines, and parent input. Some divisions may require player evaluations, keep an eye on your email. Click here to see details regarding League Divisions.
