
COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
Non-essential Los Alamos County government facilities are closed Thursday, February 3 due to hazardous weather conditions that are expected to persist throughout the day.
County officials offer some additional clarifications as follows:
- The Eco Station will open to the public today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will continue commercial and residential refuse collection as scheduled.
- No COVID-19 testing services by Pathology Consultants of New Mexico in White Rock
- No COVID-19 testing services by Curative in Los Alamos
- Atomic City Transit will provide Dial-A-Ride service from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please call the administrative office to schedule same-day service – 505-661-7433. All regular service routes are canceled.
- Customer care is closed with limited staff monitoring email and voice mails.
- While the Golf Course and Shop are closed today, Cottonwoods on the Greens is open its regular hours.
- The Ice Rink will be closed Thursday and Friday to the public. Staff will begin Snow removal operations on Friday and plan on being open Saturday for regular scheduled hours.
- The Los Alamos Airport remains closed by FAA NOTAM with the exception of helicopters, pending storm passage and plowing.
- While the Teen Center is closed, the Discord server will be active and offering online games and activities.
- Fuller Lodge Art Center is closed
- Visitor Centers in Los Alamos and White Rock are closed
- Los Alamos Nature Center is closed
- The Magistrate Court is closed
- Los Alamos County Municipal court is working remotely. If scheduled for court please call 505-662-8025 or email municort@lacnm.us for the 1:30 court zoom link.
- Community Development Department has canceled inspections for today
- The Clerk’s Office is closed, but staff is responding to emails
- The Los Alamos Aquatic Center is closed today.
- The Los Alamos Mesa and White Rock public libraries are closed and as a result curbside pickup is suspended.
Other local attractions are also closed, including Bradbury Science Museum, The Manhattan Project National Historical Park, Bandelier National Monument, and the Valles Caldera Visitor Contact Station. UNM-Los Alamos is also closed.
