In recognition of American Heart Month, The Family YMCA is sponsoring a poster contest for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. 

The theme of this contest is “Be Heart Smart.” Posters may be in any medium (crayon, paint, marker, etc.) and should demonstrate what is good for your heart, or how to be Heart Smart. Posters can be turned in anytime but must be submitted by February 25, to the Y at 1450 Iris Street, in Los Alamos.

Young artists must include their name, age and grade, and phone number on the back of the poster. Winners will be announced on February 28.

There are two age categories: K-3 and 4-6, with prizes in each category: 1st prize: $50, 2nd prize: $25, 3rd prize: $10. Artwork submissions may be posted on the Y’s social media.
