Jerilynn Christiansen, 79, passed away January 12 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1942. She studied at the University of Utah where she met her husband, David, who was a chemical engineer. The couple moved to New Jersey where David was in a post doctorate program at Princeton University and Jerilynn worked in the Research Library.
In 1965, David was invited to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory and he and Jerilynn moved to Los Alamos and began their family. While working as a substitute teacher at Los Alamos High School, she received her credentials at Northern New Mexico College to become a reference librarian for Los Alamos County libraries and retired in 2013 after many years at Mesa Public Library.
Jerilynn was involved for many years with Fuller Lodge Art Center and the Los Alamos Farmers Market as a volunteer. She loved to sing and was a member of the Los Alamos Choral Society.
She raised all five of her children in Los Alamos and has 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Jerilynn will be limited to immediate family due to COVID concerns.
