The Los Alamos Resiliency, Energy and Sustainability (LARES) Task Force invites the Los Alamos community to a three-part Climate Change series hosted in collaboration with Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC). To be held on Jan. 6 and 20 at 6 p.m. the Part One and Two series will be hybrid events (in-person at the Los Alamos Nature Center and virtually through Zoom). Part Three will be held on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. in-person only, at the Los Alamos Nature Center located at 2600 Canyon Road.

The educational, presentational, and interactive series “The Power Is Yours: Taking Action Against Climate Change,” focuses on answering the questions, what is climate change, why is it happening, and what actions (small and large) can individuals make to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?  Interested individuals can visit https://peecnature.org/events/ to learn more about the series and register.

The LARES Task Force was formed on Jan. 26, 2021, by the Los Alamos Council to serve as an advisory body. Its charge is to research and recommend ways for the County to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions and advance other sustainable practices in the face of climate change.  Information on the research of the LARES Task Force is available on the county website at https://lacnm.com/LARES .  Individual can also email questions or comments directly to LARES.TaskForce@lacnm.us.
