Los Alamos Family Council CountUP! Week 7

LOS ALAMOS FAMILY COUNCIL NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos Family Council’s Youth Activity Centers have been helping build resilience in the youth of our community for two generations. With free supervised activities after school and during school breaks, the Youth Activity Centers have played a key role in the lives of hundreds of Los Alamos County youth and their families.

This great work is performed by a dedicated team. That team is made up of two site directors, Bailey Martinez and Marie Vigil, three regular staff members, Mae Lopez, Cara Maestas, and Cody Harris. This team is supported by two seasonal staff members, Cody Adams and Alix Morgan.

This amazing team handles the two Youth Activity Centers and providers more than 2,000 hours of operating hours each year. During that time they make snacks at the snack bar, help with homework, play games, take kids on field trips throughout Northern New Mexico, and work with kids daily to help them learn how to resolve conflict, build confidence and resilience, and to have another caring adult in their life.

Los Alamos Family Council is proud of our Youth Activity center team and the great work they do! If you, or anyone you know, need after school or summer programming for youth in grades 3rd through 8th, don’t hesitate to call us.
