Southwest Fire Defense owner Daniel Martinez remotely controls the crane truck to lift branches up and off a residence in Quemazon. Southwest Fire Defense may be reached at (505) 508-3953. Martinez has been in business since 2014. Photo by Maire O’Neill.losalamosreporter.com

The tree is propped up with a-frames in two spots to keep it from falling to the ground and damaging flagstone on the patio. Photo by Maire O’Neill/losalamosreporter.com

The crane reaches over from the front of the house to the back where the fallen tree is located. The crane truck is designed to make working in hard to reach locations easier. The chipper is on hand close by so that all the branches can be chipped and easily hauled away. Photo by Maire O’Neill/losalamosreporter.com
