Obituary: Lucinda ‘Lucy’ Rebecca Stallings Oct. 3, 1932 – Dec. 15, 2021

Lucinda “Lucy” Rebecca Stallings, born October 3, 1932, passed away on December 15, 2021, at the age of 89.  She was born in Bingham Canyon, Utah and was raised in Santa Fe, NM. In 1950, she met and married the “Love of Her Life”, James E. Stallings. They would call Los Alamos “Home” for the next 71 years. They celebrated their 71st Wedding Anniversary together in their home on September 12th .  She is survived by her loving husband, James and their four children; Sandra Anderson of Sharon, Connecticut; Loretta Jo Finley (Darryl) of Albuquerque; Randy Stallings (Cheryl) of Amarillo, Texas; and Wanda Stanhope (Craig) of Albuquerque. She is also survived by loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters,  nieces, nephews, cousins and so many loving life-long friends.

Her long life meant long friendships and years of laughter and joy with everyone she knew. She was sincere, kind, and loving. She always made time to laugh, dance and sing. She loved cooking huge meals at home or by a campfire. Her laugh and the twinkle in her eye would just light up a room. Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year, so it is understandable that she had to get to heaven a week before Christmas.  She is making sure every package is perfectly wrapped, and every bow and name tag matches the color scheme.

Our Hearts are broken but we are comforted knowing she is dancing with the angles and making Heaven a more Beautiful place to call “Home”.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

The family has chosen to use the gentle care of Rivera Family Funeral Home of Los Alamos and Espanola.
