Owen James, a 7th grader at Los Alamos Middle School, won first place in the LAMS Spelling Bee held last week. Eighth grader Jasmine Heft was second, followed by 7th grader Karly Seitz-Pruitt in third place. Audrey Miller, also a 7th grader, is the alternate.
The District Spelling Bee is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
“It took 14 rounds to determine our winner,” said LAMS Spelling Bee Coordinator Sherri Bublitz. The winning word was “hodad.”
