County: Ice Rink Open For 85th Season

Los Alamos County Recreation staff have been hard at work  building up the ice and painting the lines at the Ice Rink. Built in 1936, the ice rink is now open  for its 85th season with new upgrades and fun upcoming events. Upgrades to the ice rink include  new locker rooms and has been upgraded to be more ADA friendly. The Ice Rink will continue  to offer ice skating lessons, a place for Los Alamos Hockey Association to practice and play  hockey. Ice Rink schedule can be found on the Los Alamos County Community Service  webpage under Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces tab, Ice Rink tab, and then the 2021 Winter  Hours tab. 

The New Mexico Ice Wolves will be playing an inter-squad game Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3pm  to kick off the Ice Rink season. Tickets are $6.50 for ages 6 and older and $2.50 for ages 5 and  under. Tickets can be purchased at the Aquatic Center and online with the event being limited to  250 spectators. 

Other events include Skate with Santa, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18, and the  Luminaria Skate on Friday evening, Dec. 24.
