Have you ever wondered what is involved in adding solar to your home? Join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) and the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) for a discussion about home solar energy use. This event will take place on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and is free to attend. The talk will be presented in person at the Los Alamos Nature Center, but participants can also join virtually via Zoom. Registration is required and seating is limited at the nature center. Topics to be covered include progress towards the County’s carbon-neutral 2040 goal, pros and cons of home-based solar, permitting, net metering and reasons for possible changes in the rate structure. There will also be plenty of time for questions. This talk will be given by Los Alamos County’s Power System Supervisor Jordan Garcia and Los Alamos County’s Electrical Engineering Manager Stephen Marez.
