FULLER LODGE ART CENTER NEWS RELEASE
The annual Affordable Arts Holiday Show at the Fuller Lodge Art Center is now open. Step into the gallery space and you will be transported into a winter wonderland of affordable holiday gifts. You will find something for every member of the family, for any budget, while supporting over 100 local small businesses! From stained glass to needle-felted sculptures, to photographic prints, a wide variety of work is being offered, both holiday themed and not. The Art Center is participating in the Blue Bucks Raffle, and 5% of all proceeds on Small Business Saturday will be donated to Moving Arts Española. Moving Arts Española uses its donations to provide community children with scholarships for classes, after school tutoring, free meals for families, and employment for youth and adults.
The Portal Gallery at the Fuller Lodge Art Center will also feature Best of the Jemez, a showing of nationally exhibited artist Theodore Greer’s photography work, also for sale. Ted is a local artist who has been photographing our beautiful New Mexico landscape for many years, since his childhood spent at trading posts on the Navajo and Zuni reservations. The Affordable Arts Show and Best of the Jemez will be up through January 8th to give shoppers plenty of time to pick out the perfect piece.
After you’re done perusing the shelves at Fuller Lodge Art Center, make your way over to the Step Up Gallery next door at Mesa Public Library. There you can view the Santa Fe Pleinairians’ Gift of Small Paintings, where over 25 of New Mexico’s best plein air painters display small works priced for holiday shopping. This will be the Santa Fe Pleinairians’ first exhibition in Los Alamos, and the first exhibit in the Step Up Gallery that will give buyers the option of taking home an original piece of reasonably priced work same-day. In-Gallery Purchasing will be available Monday -Friday: 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10am – 4:00pm (closed Black Friday and Sundays). Gift of Small Paintings opens Wednesday, Nov. 24 and closes January 2, 2022.
The Fuller Lodge Art Center will have extended hours throughout the holiday season. The Art Center will be open from 10am to 4pm Monday through Saturday, and 12pm through 3pm on Sundays. Make sure to keep local artists in mind when shopping small!
