Milton Lopez Jr, 74, resident of Pecos, New Mexico, passed away on November 16, 2021 due to a short illness. He was born on July 21, 1947 in Pecos, New Mexico to Felia Lopez and Meliton Lopez Sr.

He married Edwina R. Lopez on February 02, 1973 in Pecos, NM.

He is preceded in death by his son; Nathan Encinias, father; Meliton Lopez Sr., wife; Edwina R. Lopez, mother; Felia Lopez, father-in-law; Baudilio Sena, mother-in-law; MaryAnn Sena.
He is survived by his daughters; Glenda Escalante and Jennifer Lopez and son; Milton Daniel Lopez (Estrella), grandkids; Kylie Escalante, Tristen Escalante, Markus Martinez, Rian Casarez, Tyler Tafoya and Lorenzo Lopez.

Milton was a Vietnam Veteran who was recognized by the U.S. Army for his honorable service with a Purple Heart. He began his professional career as a firefighter with the Los Alamos Fire Department in 1978, retiring in 1997.

Milton was an avid outdoors man, who had passion for horses. He was very active, still riding his horses until the very end. Most days he could be found cruising around town, visiting with old and new friends alike.

He was a loving husband, father and friend. Milton led by example, teaching his children and grandkids the value of hard work and dedication to the things you love. He will be deeply and profoundly missed.
