County Schedules Hearing On NMIT’s Objection To Resolution On Former Hilltop House Property Requiring Removal Of Building

Los Alamos County Council has slated a hearing for 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3 on the objection by New Mexico Innovation Triangle, LLC to a resolution passed by Council declaring the former Hilltop House property now owned by NMIT a menace to the public comfort, health, peace and safety, and ordering removal of the building, associated ruins, wreckage and debris from the County as provided for in state law.

The agenda packet for the meeting provides a a copy of the resolution and the state law, as well as a one-page notice of objection from NMIT’s attorney Karl Sommer of Sommer Karnes & Associates, LLP. By statute, no reasons for the objection are required to be submitted until the hearing.
