LWV Virtual Lunch With A Leader Thursday Features Katie Leonard


The Los Alamos League of Women Voters’ community event, Lunch with a Leader, will be via zoom on November 18 from noon-1PM. Their leader will be Katie Leonard, Chair of the Los Alamos Resiliency, Energy, and Sustainability Task Force. 

Katie graduated from Los Alamos High School in 2001. She attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and has Bachelor degrees in History and French as well as a Masters of Teaching.  She was a high school French teacher for 13 years and has lived and taught English in France 3 times. In addition, Katie taught English at the teacher training university in La Réunion, France, an island in the Indian Ocean near Madagascar, as well as at a middle school in Normandy and a high school in Nantes.

She and her husband went to prom together in 2000 and remained friends until 2012 when they decided they should get back together. After finishing his PhD, her husband got a postdoc at the Lab so they returned to Los Alamos in 2019.
