LAFSE Congratulates Newly-Elected And Returning School Board Members On Election Success

LAFSE NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos Federation of School Employees (LAFSE) Union Co-Presidents Christine Englebrecht and Trey Pereyra have released the following statements regarding Tuesday’s local election results:

“We would like to express our congratulations to newly-elected, LAFSE-endorsed Board member Antonio Jaurigue and returning Board members, Ellen Specter, Erin Green and Melanie Colgan. We look forward to deepening our partnership as we continue to continue to support and advocate for all our students and staff,” said Engelbrecht.

“We want to thank our Committee on Political Education (COPE) members for their diligent work ensuring the best candidates were endorsed in this election. Los Alamos’ system of public education is truly a community effort, and last night’s election results show the deep level of partnership we have achieved working collaboratively with the Board of Education and as a presence in the communities we serve. This election, including the passage of the schools bond levy, is critical for maintaining these long-standing relationships, and we are excited to work with our new and returning members,” said Pereyra.
