COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
The Staff at Mesa Public Library is pleased to present Eat the Rainbow: Colorful Foods and Your Health live on Zoom with Certified Health Coach Kate Cleveland on Thursday, Nov. 4, from 7 – 8 p.m. Nutrition is a complicated topic that can confound even the most dedicated of health aficionados, especially when fad diet trends and misinformation seem to lurk around every corner. In this workshop, Coach Kate takes us back to basics and draws from scientific research to explain how the phytochemicals found in colorful foods impact the different systems of the human body.
When it comes to nutrition, Coach Kate brings a wealth of knowledge to the dinner table—she holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Toxicology with an emphasis in Nutritional Pathways from Oregon State University. She conducted her graduate work at the prestigious Linus Pauling Institute where she worked under the guidance of some of the foremost thinkers in the field of nutritional research, studying the role that micronutrients and phytochemicals play in human aging, immune function, and chronic disease. She now dedicates herself to simplifying the macrocosmic world of nutrition in ways that make it accessible to everyone, from individuals dealing with health issues to busy families struggling with healthy and practical meal plans.
Coach Kate is the founder and owner of Kiss Your Food, a business that provides consultative services in the arenas of health and wellness. Focus areas include individualized nutritional and dietary coaching, disease prevention, educational programs, and meal planning. As a resident of northern New Mexico and a passionate health advocate, she also works with area nonprofits to help facilitate community-based outreach programs.
This event is free and open to the public. It will be conducted online via the Zoom platform. To obtain your meeting link and access to the program, please register through the Event Calendar on the Mesa Public Library website. For questions or help with registration, please call (505) 662-8257.
