PEEC NEWS RELEASE
Join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) for Halloweekend fun at the Los Alamos Nature Center on Friday, Oct. 29! The nature center will be open for extended hours on Friday, so stop by during the Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet fun. PEEC will have crafts, fun activities and — of course — candy from 4 – 6 p.m. PEEC will also host spooky creature encounters with the animals that live at the nature center at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
Then, join PEEC for a screening of the documentary “Hauntings of the Atomic City” at 6:30 p.m. This locally-made, spooky and zany movie was produced by 2021 Los Alamos High School graduate Gus Yeager. It explores the supernatural history and legends of Los Alamos and features interviews and excursions to rumored haunted sites around the town with high school friends. This documentary contains some strong language and unsettling images and is not meant for children. Because the nature center has limited seating in the planetarium, please register in advance at peecnature.org/events. Refreshments will be available before the film and doors will open at 6 p.m.
