LAFSE NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos Federation of School Employees (LAFSE) Union Co-Presidents Christine Engelbrecht and Trey Pereyra released the following statements Tuesday:
“The Los Alamos Federation of School Employees supports the mill levy bond for Los Alamos Public Schools because we recognize these funds are critical to support our children’s education through the purchasing of school equipment, school furniture, playground structures, and other needed capital improvement projects. The bond will not increase taxes to the residents of Los Alamos,” said Engelbrecht. “These funds will provide essential improvements to district buildings, ensuring our staff and students have adequate heating, cooling, functional bathrooms, and lighting. Additionally, bond funds will support resources like technology, books, playground toys, and equipment, ensuring every staff member and student are able to enjoy a rich educational setting.
“We deeply appreciate that Los Alamos voters have consistently supported our students and educators in past elections, and we again urge residents to vote ‘YES’ on this mill levy bond,” said Pereyra.
