COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities’ customers may receive an automated phone survey sometime between Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. The purpose of the three-minute survey is to assess the effectiveness of the DPU’s public awareness program designed to promote natural gas safety for all stakeholders, including customers with and without gas heaters or appliances. As a natural gas provider, DPU is committed to safely delivering gas to the community. It is equally committed to educating Los Alamos citizens on the potential dangers of natural gas and how to prevent possible injury or harm. Survey responses will allow DPU to measure and better focus its communication efforts to promote improved understanding of natural gas safety.
Survey questions are designed to align with the US Department of Transportation’s public awareness requirements outlined in the 49 Code of Federal Regulations Section 192.616 and the API RP 1162 – Public Awareness Programs. DPU officials thank the Los Alamos citizens for their cooperation in taking this survey. Questions may be directed to the DPU at 505-662-8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us.
