Lauren Lippiatt’s life-long dream of opening a place like Dragonfly Playhouse Daycare has become a reality.
“All I have ever wanted, since I was a very little girl, was to take care of babies and little ones,” she said.
You can tell by her demeanor as she easily strolls around the newly-opened facility with her baby daughter Magnolia sleeping against her, that she is really in her element surrounded by children ages 12 months to 36 months. A spacious nursery provides space for babies from six weeks to 12 months old.
“I grew up here in Los Alamos. My mom is here, my grandparents are here, and my best friends are here. Many of my friends from growing up bring their kids to Dragonfly. It is so much fun to be a part of their lives and watch their families grow.,” Lippiatt said.
To her, Dragonfly Playhouse has several very important jobs as well as providing a much needed service in Los Alamos and White Rock.
“I want us to help as many families as we can. But more than that, we strive to make each family’s day easier and lighter. Each day is a new opportunity to give our kids their best day. It’s our job to provide a safe, caring, play and exploration-based program that encourages our kids to be strong, smart individuals,” she said.
Lippiatt said she loves watching the children grow and learn.
“We are a big family here. I look forward to seeing our Dragonfly Playhouse family grow and become a familiar, trusted name in the community. I am excited to see this dream set down some roots and be here to serve families for years to come,” she said.
The facility is even bigger than can be told from the street. It has 5,000 square feet of space with lots of large windows that make it a bright and cheerful place to be.
Dragonfly Playhouse is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call (505) 672-8158 for more information. Located on the corner of Meadow Lane and Rover Boulevard at 142 Meadow Lane in White Rock.
