LAHS Alumnus USN E5 Jared Rodriguez Graduates From 1st Class Leadership Preparedness Class

U.S. Navy E5 Jared Rodriguez, right, a 2015 graduate of Los Alamos High School, has graduated from a 1st Class Leadership Preparation Class at Assault Craft Unit 5 on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base Camp, Calif. and is pictured receiving his certificate from Chief Craig. The purpose of the class was to further the development and understanding of being a more versatile and effective leader to young sailors. Rodriguez is a gas turbine technician and is surface-warfare and air-warfare qualified. He was stationed overseas in Rota, Spain for four years during which he deployed all over Europe. He then moved to ACU 5 to become a landing craft air cushion (LCAC) deck engineer for amphibian assault missions involving the transport of Marines and combat equipment from ship to shore. While at LAHS, Rodriguez participated in the NJROTC program. He is the son of Lloyd and Pamela Rodriguez of Velarde.
