Los Alamos Photo Club Hosts 25th Annual Los Alamos Photographers’ Show In Step Up Gallery At Mesa Public Library Through Oct. 22

The Los Alamos Photo Club is hosting its 25th Annual Show Sept. 27 through Oct. 22 in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library. In addition to highlighting current work of Los Alamos Photo Club members, the opportunity was given to other photographers who live or work in the Los Alamos area to enter the exhibit as well.

The exhibit includes a wide variety of approaches to photography and subjects ranging from expansive landscape vistas to wild animals, exotic vegetation and flowers, international portraits to airshow action photos. The photographers exhibiting in the 25th Annual Show include: Monique Beyerle, Beverly Cooper, Martin Cooper, Michael Devereux, Paula Couselo-Findikoglu, Hal Davis, Doris Ford, Patricia Hensley, Vangie Hodge, Kristen Honig, Leigh House, Kenneth J. Johnson, Joseph Keel, Andi Kron, Graham Mark, Harvey Morgan II, Randal Pair, and John Sarracino.

Many framed photographs and photos printed on wrap-around canvas are available for purchase by directly contacting each photographer through their email addresses printed on each wall tag in the exhibit.

The public is invited to attend a Walk-Through on Tuesday, Oct.. 12 from 6 -7:30 p.m. where photographers will guide visitors through the exhibit discussing technique, equipment and subject approaches. Masking and social distancing is required for attendance.

The Los Alamos Photo Club meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at Fuller Lodge Art Center, however, during pandemic disruptions, the meetings have been held as Zoom meetings and have been announced on the LAPC groups.io website groups.io/g/lapc. Photo Club membership dues cost only $15 annually. Meeting topics include discussions and presentations on software for photo processing, various software for publishing photographic galleries to the web, framing, photographic techniques and more. Photo sharing and photo travel logs occur frequently. The club also sponsors occasional field trips as well as an annual presentation by a professional photographer. Step Up Gallery is located on the top floor of Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave., Los Alamos. The gallery is open the same hours as the library: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday; 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday. Closed Sundays. Masks are required for entrance.
