The Los Alamos Public Schools Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. this evening at Chamisa Elementary School. Concerns were raised late this afternoon that the public might not be aware that the meeting was not going to be held at the School Board Room in Los Alamos and that there was no provision for attending via Zoom.
Interim Supt. Jennifer Guy told the Los Alamos Reporter that the agenda as posted Monday and sent to local media listed the venue for the meeting as Chamisa Elementary School and that no Zoom link was included on the agenda.
“We fully approve of and intend to have Zoom available when our board meetings are held at the individual school sites, but our technology will have to be updated for that to happen. Having the increased participation in the meetings through Zoom during the pandemic has been great and we want to have that continue,” she said.
Guy said a recording of this evening’s meeting will be posted on the LAPS website.
