John Richard Phillips II “Big John” passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 8, 2021 at the age of 64.  He was known by many as the gentle giant in Los Alamos. 

John was born March 18, 1957 and spent most of his life living in Los Alamos.  While living in Los Alamos he worked at the Chevron station across from Ashley Pond, the Smiths grocery store developing pictures at their one hour photos, and Daylight Donuts. 

John belonged to the Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Los Alamos.  He was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and had a small role in the movie Men in Black.  While living in Los Alamos he continued to pursue his love for acting at the Los Alamos Little Theater where he appeared in several productions.  John will be missed by his many Facebook friends.

Services will be conducted at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.
