Reminder: Main Hill Road Weekend Closures Begin Saturday

New Mexico Department of Transportation, along with Albuquerque Asphalt Inc. will begin a pavement rehabilitation project on Saturday,
Sept. 11 at the entrance to Los Alamos from NM 502 (Main Hill Rd) to Tewa Loop. Work will take
place from mile marker 2 to 6. The 4-mile project is expected to occur over 15 working days and will
include new pavement and striping.

On each Saturday and Sunday, crews will work from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on the Main Hill Rd section. It
will be closed during working hours, and traffic will be detoured to E. Jemez Rd (Truck Route).
 
Monday-Wednesday of each week, crews will work from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day on the Tewa Loop
to Eastgate Dr section. There will be traffic control personnel at each end of the closure, and a pilot
car will guide motorists through the work zone.
 
At the end of each workday, all traffic control devices will be removed, and the roadway reopened to
motorists. No work will be performed on Thursday and Friday of each week, and the roadway will be
