Clarence Washington To Speak At RPLA Constitution Day Dinner Sept. 25

The Republican Party of Los Alamos County is hosting its annual Constitution Day Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Cottonwoods On The Greens. The mixer/cash bar begins at 5 p.m. and dinner is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Author Clarence Washington will speak on “The Truth Will Set You Free: Recovery from Social Injustice and Racial Disparity.” In his book, Hijacked (Vol. 1-4), he clarifies the principles of social justice and freedoms for all Americans that Dr. King presented in his “I Have a Dream “ speech.

The student winners of the Constitution Essay Contest will receive their cash prizes and have an opportunity to read their essays. The elementary winner receives $100, the middle school winner receives $200 and the high school winner receives $300. Tickets are $65 per individual, $120 per couple and $40 for students (college and below).

There is an additional $5 per person charge at the door for tickets not reserved or prepaid by Sept. 17.
