Los Alamos National Laboratory responded late Friday afternoon to a request for comments on reports of planned protests against mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements for LANL employees, on-site contractors and subcontractors. The Los Alamos Reporter contacted LANL after receiving information about a “call-out” being promoted on social media by a group calling itself Atomic Patriot and claiming not to be anti-mask or anti-vaccine but anti-mandates.

“Triad supports the efforts of employees and their families to gather and evaluate all the accurate information available on the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. To ensure that our employees continue to have a safe working environment well into the future, Triad is requiring all employees and on-site contractors and subcontractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 15,” a Laboratory spokesperson said. “The vast majority of LANL employees have already been vaccinated, and that number continues to grow – we strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated.”
