Espanola Police Officer Sustains Minor Injuries In Crash Sunday Morning On East Jemez Road


City of Espanola Police Chief Roger Jimenez confirmed Sunday that one of his officers received minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on East Jemez Road at around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Los Alamos Fire Deparment and Police Department responded to the scene where the officer’s patrol vehicle appeared to have struck a power pole and sustained extensive damage. The officer reportedly suffered a gash on his forehead but had already exited the vehicle.

By 8 a.m., the vehicle had been moved and Los Alamos National Laboratory Emergency Management officials remained at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
