
DOT NEWS RELEASE
The New Mexico Department of Transportation along with Albuquerque Asphalt Inc. will begin a pavement rehabilitation project on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, on NM 502 in Los Alamos.
Work will take place from mile marker 2 to 6. The 4-mile project is expected to last 15 working days and will include new pavement and striping.
On each Saturday and Sunday, crews will work from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on the main hill road section. It will be closed during working hours, and traffic will be diverted onto the truck route.
On Monday through Wednesday of each week, crews will work from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day on the Tewa Loop to Eastgate Drive section. There will be traffic control personnel at each end of the closure, and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone.
At the end of each workday, all traffic control devices will be removed, and the roadway reopened to motorists. No work will be performed on Thursday and Friday of each week, and the roadway will be open to motorists.
Motorists should use caution, obey posted speed limits, expect delays and plan accordingly.
