Los Alamos Retail Accelerator Program Applications Now Open

LOS ALAMOS MAINSTREET NEWS

Los Alamos MainStreet, in partnership with New Mexico MainStreet, the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce, and through a New Mexico Economic Development Department LEADS Grant, is spearheading a Los Alamos Retail Accelerator program this Fall and Winter 2021.

Entrepreneurs selected for the program can help de-risk their entry in Los Alamos retail. The program will be conducted in two phases, with the first serving as a retail storefront training in conjunction with New Mexico MainStreet, and the second a viability test in a vacant retail storefront, with select program participants provided free rent, utilities and merchandising display costs for a period of time.
The overall desired outcome of the Retail Accelerator program is an increase in independent retail stores in Los Alamos’ downtown core. This desired increase will create a more dynamic and interesting place for residents and visitors to enjoy. It will also help diversify the greater Los Alamos economy, create import substitution options for consumers, build the entrepreneurial class and ecosystem of the area, and fill vacant storefronts.
