FULLER LODGE ARTS CENTER NEWS
,Fuller Lodge Art Center will be hosting its first opening reception of 2021 on Friday, Aug. 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The show, titled Traveling Pants will feature a variety of artwork; showcasing the creativity of 15 local artists who have submitted their interpretation of life during the last year. These works feature a variety of mediums, ranging from collage to crochet. Along with these works we are featuring work made by our Summer Art Camp classes. These classes are offered for kids from preschool aged through 13, all of which are represented in these pieces. We are also in contact with several organizations from around the country, so we’ll be tracking some of these traveling pants on their various journeys!
In our portal gallery, we will be featuring photographer Kristen Honig with her show “Earth’s Extremes: Fire and Ice”. Kristen Honig has been pursuing her passion of photography for more than 20 years, focusing on the natural beauty of the world around her. Her work includes landscape and wildlife images, as well as iconic photos of our nation’s wildfires. The exhibit “Earth’s Extremes: Fire and Ice” will showcase these two contrasting elements of nature. The show features primarily photographs printed on a variety of mediums (canvas, metal, photographic paper), as well as a few pieces of original stained glass and pastel artwork.
Traveling Pants and Earth’s Extremes: Fire and Ice will be in the gallery from July 30-Sept. 25. Masks will be required for the opening and for entry into the Art Center.
.Also coming up at Fuller Lodge Art Center is our 40th Annual Summer Arts & Crafts fair, which will be held on the lawn Saturday, Aug. 14 from 9: a.m. to 4 p.m. This fair, our first in-person since 2019, will feature more than 50 artists and have a wide variety of mediums.
