As Patrick Mockler-Wood remarked Monday afternoon, keeping a business operating in Los Alamos is a tall task even without COVID-19. Mockler-Wood and his wife, Emily are the owners of Pajarito Brewpub & Grill and along with Laura Crucet, owner of the Pig + Fig Cafe, and the Bathtub Row Brewing Co-Op, they hosted a party Tuesday afternoon at Urban Park for their employees.

“Over the last year and a half, it’s been nuts. It’s been more than nuts, for our industry especially,” Mockler-Wood told the combined staff. “We’ve had jobs, not had jobs, had jobs, not had jobs. We’ve had way too much work and no work at all, and we’re far from out of it. I just think this is a good chance to pause for a moment and just say we deserve some fun too.”

He thanked the employees of the three establishments for being there. He thanked Pig + Fig for all their hard work, especially for their continuous excellence and their awesome special events. He thanked Bathtub for continuing to provide the great beer and concerts and his own Pajarito Brewpub employees for their non-stop, seven days a week work “keeping at it without a break”.

“You guys all deserve a round of applause; you all deserve a pat on the back. And that’s a little taste of what this party is,” Mockler-Wood said.
