Los Alamos Family Council To Host Self-Management And Recovery Training Meetings Beginning Aug. 3

LAFC NEWS

Los Alamos Family Council is proud to announce that we will begin hosting SMART meetings on Tuesday Aug. 3 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) meetings will be held weekly on Tuesdays and are free of charge thanks to funding from the Los Alamos County DWI Program. These meetings are open to the public, not just clients of Los Alamos Family Council. No prior arrangements need to be made before attending – those interested can just arrive at our Counseling Center Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.

SMART Recovery is built around the 4-Point Program: 1) Building and maintaining the motivation to change, 2) Coping with urges to use, 3) Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in an effective way without addictive behaviors, and 4) Living a balance, positive, and health life.

SMART meetings held at Los Alamos Family Council will be hosted and facilitated by a training mental health professional.
