COUNTY NEWS
In June of 2020, during the pandemic, Los Alamos County installed a new art piece “Multiverse” by Evelyn Rosenberg. “Multiverse” is a detonography sculpture that reflects the community of Los Alamos. Detonography is a process innovated by Ms. Rosenberg, which uses controlled explosions to create intricate metal sculptures that are beautiful from a distance and have tremendous detail up close.
Evelyn Rosenberg is a nationally recognized artist, whose public art appears in communities throughout the country and New Mexico. Her work is highly specific to the location, incorporating themes and styles that reflect the community and respond to their interests.
The Los Alamos County Arts in Public Places Board is excited to announce that they will be hosting an art dedication ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 16 at Ashley Pond for this amazing addition to the Los Alamos County art collection.
