Rover Park Update Completed, Park Now Open

Los Alamos County Community Services Department is excited to  announce that the Rover Park update has completed and has reopened.

The Rover Park project was one of many projects that the County was working on during the  2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Los Alamos County Community Services Department conducted a community survey at the park and on social media in the summer of 2020, asking the community  which play structure, out of a total of four possibilities, they liked the best; votes from children  were also gladly accepted. The result from over 700 votes and what was installed at Rover Park  is three vividly colored structures from PlayWell and a swing set.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be conducted on Monday, June 28th at 10:00am at Rover Park to  celebrate its reopening and to thank the Los Alamos County staff members and contractors who  helped complete this project during a time of uncertainty.

Rover Park is a six-acre park that includes amenities such as play structures for ages 6 months – 12 years of age, picnic pavilion, beach volleyball court, tennis courts, BBQ grills, grassy areas,  and restrooms.
