The annual Splash-n-Dash (Swim+Run) races are one of the most popular events that Los Alamos Triatomics (https://triatomics.org) puts on and we were very saddened to cancel it last year. Since early this year we have been racking our brains on how to pull it off given the uncertainty around Covid restrictions and the certainty of on-going construction at the aquatic center.

But good news! Thanks to Los Alamos County doing really well with vaccinations, CDC guidelines really easing up and most of all, the generous accommodation of the Barranca Mesa Pool Association, we are pleased to announce that Triatomics will hold 5 Splash-n-Dash events at the Barranca Mesa Pool. The exact details of the course are being worked out but the dates are finalized:

7 p.m., Wednesday, June 16
7 p.m. Wednesday, June 30
7 p.m. Wednesday, July 14
7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28
7 p.m. Wednesday, August 4

We will have instructions at the venue.

As you know last year was a terrible year for all activities and the start of this year was not much better. As a result, our membership enrollment is badly down but we still had to pay our insurance  and fees for last year and this. Also, even with the very generous discount that Barranca Pool Association is giving us for renting the pool, there is a significant cost to holding the event  unlike past years when it was free for us (and you). Still we miss seeing you guys so much that we decided it was totally worth it!

So, how can you help?

1. Become a member or renew your membership at https://www.trireg.com/triatomics-membership-21

2. Consider adding a donation to your membership.

3. Encourage non-member friends who come to the event to become members.

4. Donate at the event.

Finally, we may need more volunteers this year given that the course will be unfamiliar to many. Please send a mail to board@triatomics.org indicating which dates you can help.
