Smoke Moves Into Los Alamos Skies Overnight From Out-Of-State Fires

Smoke moved into the Los Alamos are overnight as can be seen from near the Mitchell Trailhead around 6:30 a.m. Monday. Los Alamos Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Dawald told the Los Alamos Reporter the bulk of the smoke is coming from fires in California and Arizona. “We have a few fires in New Mexico that are currently burning, but they are not the reason for the smoke. We are expecting a hot and dry week here, so hopefully, nothing starts in our region,” Chief Dawald said.
