Libraries Offer ‘Reading Colors Your World’ Summer Reading Program For Youth, Teens And Adults

LOS ALAMOS PUBLIC LIBRARIES NEWS

Los Alamos Public Libraries invite you to participate in Reading Colors Your World summer reading for all ages beginning June 7. All ages sign up on Beanstack, read and log books, do fun activities, and read to earn tickets for prize drawings.  Why should you do summer reading?  For youth, teens, and adults, the reading program is chock full of great activities, reading recommendations, and the opportunity to earn fun prizes.  For the youngest readers, summer reading helps them keep up their reading proficiency and  learning skills.  For parents, grandparents, and caregivers, joining an adult summer reading program is a great way to model reading for the young people in your life.

In addition to tracking reading and winning prizes, the library has great summer programs for all ages.  There are storytimes and Music & Movement for the youngest kids ages 0-6, Ready, Set, READ for ages 5-7, Choose Your Own Adventure for grades 3-6, Comic Workshops for ages 10+, and Random Fandom for grades 7-12.  Check out the adult lectures, author talks, and family events too!  Learn more about summer reading HERE.

Find out about all the public library events at both Mesa Public and White Rock Libraries on the NEW library events calendar.  There are programs and events for all ages!  Search the calendar by age group, in-person or virtual presentation, registration required, or different calendar views.  Pre-registration is required for many library programs to ensure COVID-safe protocols. Participants may register for programs through the calendar and receive program email reminders. You will find links to the calendar on the library homepage and on the events tab.

Tips for using the calendar:   Clicking tab or enter won’t make the search criteria effective.  To filter calendar results, enter your criteria and then click SEARCH on the right side of the calendar toolbar.
