
Los Alamos High School graduating senior Isaac Alex Romero is headed to the University of New Mexico where he will attend Honors College and pursue a degree in Biochemistry. Isaac’s career goal is to specialize in research pertaining to endocrinology and the chemical processes involved in the development, progression, and treatment of type 1 diabetes. Isaac expresses his sincere gratitude to all of his high school career mentors with special thanks to Julianna Barbee, Cassandra Chavez, Leanne Hick and his Educator of Distinction, Don Davis. Isaac is honored and humbled to be the recipient of the Hospital Auxiliary of the Los Alamos Medical Center, Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council 3137, Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, Pat Edmonds and Sue Graves Memorial, Rotary Great Expectations, University of New Mexico, and Zia Credit Union Education Foundation Scholarships. Isaac is thankful to the scholarship founders, committees, and donors for investing in his future.
