LANL Foundation 2021 Education Enrichment Grants Application Opens May 21

On Friday, May 21, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation opens its competitive 2-year Education Enrichments Grants cycle. Grants will be awarded at a level of $20,000 per year for two consecutive years, up to $40,000 total over the two-year grant term. Successful proposals will be those made by or working in partnership with Northern New Mexico’s public schools and will demonstrate impact in one or more of our four focus areas:

  • College, Career, Community Pathways
  • Growing & Supporting Teachers & Educational Leaders
  • Whole Child Development

“This has been a challenging year, and we celebrate the resiliency, strength, determination, and perseverance of our regional partners and grantees,” Grants Manager Sylvan Argo said. “We recognize that those doing the vital on-the-ground work in education need longer-term support, and these 2-year grants are LANL Foundation’s next best step in grantmaking, and will hopefully allow our grantees to sink deeper into their work with students, teachers, and communities, knowing that at least a piece of their funding is in place through 2023.”

Important dates:

  • Stage 1 Application Open: May 21, 2021
  • EE Grants Virtual Information Sessions: May 24th, 2021 at 4pm (more dates to come)
  • Application Deadline: June 18, 2021 by 5 pm MDT
  • Stage 2 Invite-Only Application: August 2021
  • Award Notification: Late September 2021
  • Funding: October 2021

LANL Foundation will select 20 recipients to receive $40,000 awards, totaling $800,000 of investment in education across Northern New Mexico over the 2-year grant term. The grant cycle was designed with a focus on equity and access, stemming from the LANL Foundation’s mission, vision, and commitment to listening to the communities it serves, promoting racial and social equity in all its programs and grantmaking.
