Laura Crucet Named Edible New Mexico’s Local Hero Winner

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NEWS

The New Mexico foodie magazine Edible New Mexico announced its winners for their annual Local Hero Awards and Pig +  Fig Café owner Laura Crucet was named Best Chef, Greater New Mexico!

The Local Hero Awards are the “people’s choice” awards of the New Mexico food industry. An Edible Local Hero is an exceptional individual, business or organization making a positive impact on New Mexico’s food systems. The honorees nurture our communities through food, service and socially and environmentally sustainable business practices. Edible New Mexico readers nominate and vote for their favorite local chefs, growers, artisans, advocates and other food professionals in two dozen categories.

In an effort to showcase these individuals, organizations, and businesses for their work to build a stronger local economy and a robust local food system, each issue this year will spotlight several of the winners with interviews about the work they do. Look for the “Local Heroes” department in each issue of edible

The Awards ceremony will happen in August at VARA Winery in Albuquerque.
