DOE Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office Manager Kirk Lachman To Retire

Kirk D. Lachman, the head of the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office is retiring at the end of June. In an email to the Los Alamos Reporter Monday afternoon, Lachman said DOE is working on identifying a replacement.

Lachman served as Deputy Manager and Acting Manager of the DOE’s Carlsbad Office at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Prior to that he was the Deputy Chief for Field Operations at EM headquarters. He also served in a variety of line management and safety oversight positions from 2010-2017 at the Nevada Field Office. From 2005 until 2010 he was the Engineering Design Group Supervisor for the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management in Las Vegas, Nev.
