The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities received reports that a section of the Los Alamos downtown and Eastern neighborhoods were without power around 9:23 p.m., Wednesday, April 21.
According to DPU spokesperson Julie Williams-Hill, customers affected were in an area bounded by 15th Street east to the Los Alamos wastewater plant and Canyon Road to south of Trinity Drive. DPU Linemen restored power at 10:38 p.m. to the customers west of Airport and all remaining customer by 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
“The outage was caused by a cable failure in a switch on NM 502,” Williams-Hill said.
